Teaching musicThe latest issue of NAfME’s Teaching Music magazine features an interview with Channing Paluck, doctoral student at the University of Illinois and longtime core member of the Homebrew Ukulele Union (he named the group and has only missed one sing-along).

Channing discusses some of the pedagogy and participatory concepts that have been central to the success of the Homebrew.

Congrats to Channing and his work to help make participatory music part of the music education landscape.

Great presentation on the uke in education by Robin Giebelhausen (Suncoast Symposium 2013)

15 02 2013

Robin Giebelhausen is a rising star in the music education world, and she gave a great presentation at the Suncoast Music Education Research Symposium. Ukulele educators should definitely check this one out! To engage in the mediated aspect of the class, Giebelhausen relied largely on a video, which she has graciously posted on her wonderful site!
