News coverage of our latest sing-along (CU Folk and Roots)

5 11 2012

The HUU is on the cover of the Daily Illini (November 5, 2012), with the story, “Folk and Roots a Musical Medley.” They profile our collaboration with Robeson Elementary School and our concert at the CU Folk and Roots Festival. There are a few quotes from me (Matt) along the lines of Tom Turino’s notion of participatory music, which animates much of our work.

There is also a wonderful blog post in our community blog Smile Politely, “Join Forces with the Homebrew Ukulele Union.” This entry is written by HUU alum Brian Sullivan, so he is able to give a perspective with an insider’s understanding.
